Andes in Delaware County, upstate New York, is a favorite central Catskill Mountains getaway, summer rental and vacation home location for New Yorker’s—just 2 ½ hours from the George Washington Bridge.
You can walk in no time at all through the hamlet of Andes, astride Route 28 where it turns into an old-fashioned Main Street, replete with 19th century vernacular architecture. As you make it your hometown for the weekend you will find yourself drawn into conversation with others strollers or café and restaurant porch sitters about your dogs, your kids, or the antiques, collectibles and art pouring out of the many boutiques, one-of-a-kind shops and galleries, many owned by artists and designers.
You may decide on a whim to visit our local history museum, our library with free internet access and wifi, to take a dip in the outdoor swimming pool, to play a game of tennis at our k-12 school’s newly re-furbished courts, or to simply contemplate nature in our streamside Town Park.

As are children’s arts and craft programs and theater groups, country auctions, farm visits, Hobart’s book village, as well as multiple world-class performing arts venues: all a short and pleasant road trip away on our lightly travelled country roads that encompass mountains, foothills, streams, farmland and woods. You can enjoy your whole weekend getaway from NYC on one tank of gas! Or take the Trailways bus from Port Authority, hop off in town, stay in our motel lodging—weekend entertainment right on the premises—get to know Andes in depth, and enjoy your entire stay on foot or bicycle.
