Santa Is Coming To Town, Shop 'Til You Drop, Tree Lighting, Caroling & Chace Randall Gallery Holiday Party!
On Saturday, December 6th, noon to 3 pm, Santa will be waiting by the fireplace at the Andes Hotel to hear your little one’s Christmas wishes. A professional photographer will be at the ready to snap that keeper of a photo. From noon on Al Bradbury will be giving free coats for Mom or Pop in memory of his mother at Alfalfa’s, 72 Main Street.. He has called the program “Mary Bradbury’s Coats for the Cold.” At 4:30 the annual community tree-lighting and carol singing at Bohlmann Park begins after Santa’s arrival by fire truck. The complimentary hot cider and cocoa will help take the chill off. Immediately following, everyone is invited back to the Hunting Tavern Museum, a couple of doors away to help decorate the tree by a blazing fire in the parlor, sing along while our local minstrels strum favorites, and enjoy homemade soup from one of the steaming pots cooked up just for this occasion. At 49 Main Street, Chace-Randall Gallery’s annual Holiday Party, also on this Saturday, December 6th, is open to all, and will extend from 5 to 7 pm. Curator’s Choice, a group exhibition by the gallery’s permanently exhibiting artists, opens November 28 and extends through December 28th. So bring the kids down for photos and spend the day shopping and enjoying the other holiday fun!
Andes First Annual Holiday Stroll
On Saturday December 20th , the Andes business community is coming together to provide their first Holiday Stroll. Many of the galleries and shops will stay open to 8 pm, with complimentary holiday treats. Music will be provided in the Tavern at the Andes Hotel from 7 pm to 10 pm by a great acoustic duo playing lots of holiday favorites. So, if you are having cocktails or dinner at the Hotel or Cantina, you can stop in the shops and galleries before or after. The store owners will have each decorated a tree base in their individual style, so as you stroll the village you can take in the diversity of tree decorations. Even if you are just browsing or window shopping, come on down and enjoy the real-life context of our little village, and the old-fashioned holiday spirit on Holiday Stroll night or any Thursday through Sunday.
