New Year to Memorial Day Weekend: Saturday and Sunday only, 9am-5pm.
Owned and run by designers Rick Shaver and Lee Melahn of Manhattan's Shaver/Melahn Studios, our store is a turn back in time, evoking memories of an era when design was just comfortable and relaxed. The shop is resplendent in the decorative touches and vibrant color of the unique items we have uncovered during our many travels throughout the United States and the Italian and French countryside.

Mercantile is a visual delight, with furniture and household goods artfully displayed as they might be used at home. Colorful, painted tables, historic American flags and gardening paraphernalia sprawl out over the entrance, inviting visitors to come inside and investigate further. Inside, every bit of space is made the most of, as painted sideboards and country hutches hold masses of crockery, and iron beds become unique backdrops to show off beautiful old linens and fabrics. The furniture is vintage, up to mid-century, and often handmade or hand painted with a slightly primitive quality that only adds to its appeal. Solid, old-fashioned brooms rub elbows with whimsical lime green and azure flower pots, and grandma's cozy chenille bedspreads snug up to galvanized steel flower buckets and salvaged architectural ornaments. Framed stitchery or silverware spill out of dresser drawers. It's an ever changing mix that always has something unique and out of the ordinary to offer.
